After enjoying coffee and breakfast on our deck overlooking the beautiful blue water that is a staple of the Caribbean, we enjoyed a day of relaxing in the sun and exploring our beach – Mead’s Bay. A little over a mile long and known for its powdery sand, turquoise water, sunsets, and low-density, Mead’s Bay ranked as the #3 best beach in the world in 2024. After a full day here (most of which we had the beach seemingly to ourselves with only a handful of other beachgoers in sight), it’s apparent why the Bay lives up to the reputation. It is immediately apparent that unlike many other beaches, particularly those off-the-beaten-path, there are almost no bugs here – we counted two in total today.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Our favorite island lingo we have learned so far is “liming” which means hanging out or chilling. We will definitely be bringing that one back with us!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Stephanie, of course, made many animal friends today, including the small east-Caribbean bird that serenades us throughout the day.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The food has been a standout here so far. For lunch we strolled to one end of the Bay and had delicious ceviche, guacamole, and lobster salad at the Four Seasons, which had a slightly larger crowds (and kids on spring break). For dinner we ventured inland – thanks to our rental car – and visited a local favorite called Sharky’s where we enjoyed lobster bisque soup, tomato and goat cheese salad, Caribbean jerk shrimp and the national dish of Anguilla – Red Snapper with rice and peas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We are looking forward to another wonderful day tomorrow exploring the country (yes, we can do that in a few hours since its very small!).<\/p>\n\n\n\n
